1988 Cultivating Spaces, #mustvisit (EN)

In today's article, part of the #MusaideVizitat / #MustVisit Campaign, Ioana Buru - who took the wonderful photos you can admire below - and I invite you to discover a place where good taste morphs into an ode to aesthetic simplicity, 1988 Cultivating Spaces.

When I came up with the idea of #MusaideVizitat / #MustVisit, I never imagined the avalanche of beauty that would irrevocably change the way I relate to myself and to life.

This is also the reason, I think, why it's hard for me to express in words what each visit with Ioana leaves behind. What I know for certain is that I'm a better, happier, more beautiful woman because of this project, the places, stories, and women who become part of it.

From this, I draw the sap that nourishes my art of refined living.

Long Lasting Simplicity is the business creed of 1988 Cultivating Spaces and has been a sort of mantra of mine for some time now. Simplicity, to me, is a luxury that I've started to deeply aspire to, especially after turning 30. It was the moment when I felt that a certain aesthetic clarity was meant to govern my life.

I do not associate simplicity with blandness, quite the opposite. We're talking about the quintessence of elegance in its purest form, unaltered by trends, useless ornaments, or an overwhelming visual and emotional overload.

This is also what the founders of 1988 Cultivating Spaces, Diana Toncea & Bianca Popa, propose - a timeless, one-of-a-kind, meaningful aesthetic universe.

Meaningful

A distinctive feature of this business is the design of each individual object, whether we're talking about vases, paintings, or furniture pieces. No product available on 1988cultivatingspaces.com is purchased from elsewhere; everything starts from an idea of these two extraordinarily creative and beauty-loving women.

Diana and Bianca come up with the idea, the design, and, in collaboration with skilled craftsmen and artists, the end result is achieved: pieces meant to ennoble slow living interiors.

I don't know about you, but I infinitely appreciate a product made in limited series, by people who continue to pass on the values and crafts of yesteryears, an object whose story begins with the dreams, desires, and emotions of a person.

This, for me, is what meaningful means. To create with the well-defined purpose of sharing with others a passion for the beauty of simplicity, for airy spaces decorated with gentleness, emotion, and impeccable taste.

Meaningful also represents, to the same extent, the concept of having little, but of the highest quality and with a special significance.

Try not to buy a vase just to put your flowers in it, but a carefully curated object, one that awakens a certain inner emotion.

The utility of objects should not exclude the thrill, goosebumps, butterflies in the stomach, or any other pleasant and good feeling they can create for you.

Also in the meaningful category, 1988 Cultivating Space is a business that creates a bridge to the education of good taste that we can cultivate at 4, 20 - 30, but also at 50 or 80 years old. But it's essential that we open our heart and mind, to let beauty and goodness freely reach us.

"Quality helps us live happier, calmer, and with more confidence in life and in ourselves. It's not a matter of means, but of choices. The ancients said they couldn't afford to buy poor-quality things: purchases had to have a long life." Dominique Loreau, "The Art of Refinement"

Timeless, one-of-a-kind

The collections already available on 1988cultivatingspaces.com:
the ceramic pieces, whose forms and hues have found their inexhaustible source of inspiration in the boundless mastery of the Earth;
the paintings that capture, through the undeniable talent of the artists, the human nature that embraces a certain duality of emotions, experiences, and times;
the furniture pieces, made of wood, which bring with them a natural elegance, without unnecessary exaggerations are created in limited series, by skilled hands, meticulously, with passion and with the intention of creating everyday works of art, not just objects that can be replaced after a month or a year.

And because I adore, admire, and hugely respect the attention paid to details, I was deeply impressed by the process each book goes through to reach its final stage. Professional binders (yes, you read correctly!) carefully cut the pages and then bind them between the new covers (in neutral tones).

The writing on each cover is applied using the hot foil stamping technique.

I'm telling you, it's a must to have such an album in your house, which, as I wrote above, you can leave as a legacy to your child or anyone else you feel like.
