I made myself a promise. 2026 will be the year when the seeds planted in the Genal Valley over the last two years are going to bloom into something bigger, bolder, and more interconnected than anything I have ever created before.
When we moved to this small Andalusian village, Genalguacil, I believed we were choosing a slower pace of life. But what I discovered is that rural places are not just about slow living; they are alive, creative, and full of women with stories worth sharing with the world.
My activities from the past years proved to me what I absolutely love to build, do, achieve, and thrive at: establishing communities, empowering women, and creating in so many ways.
Throughout 2025, many of my projects took shape: the workshops, the gatherings, the blog stories, and some creative collaborations, but 2026 will be the year these projects come together under one direction.
In the past years, I have been a curator of stories, of must-visit places, and of women's communities both online and offline; now I want to also become a connector between local women and global creatives and female entrepreneurs.
So here are some of my plans for 2026:
- Women-Led Community Project. My ongoing solo workshops with the women from my village will turn into an improved type of experience. Many of the women here are skilled, but they lack the confidence or know-how to organise and lead their own workshops. In 2026, I want to change that. I will guide them through the entire process, idea, structure, materials, promotion, while also co-creating combo workshops and gatherings that blend our skills.
- Women Who Shape Rural Futures podcast and blog stories. From the mountains to the world. 2026 will also be the year I launch something that has been growing quietly inside me since the days I still lived in Bucharest:
a podcast. But maybe a less ordinary type of podcast. The idea came from the countless conversations I’ve had since moving here with women from Spain, the UK, Norway, Latin America, and so on. Women who left cities, women who stayed in villages, women who reinvented traditions, and women who created beauty where the world saw nothing but silence. The podcast will be bilingual, Spanish & English, depending on the guest. Each episode will live not only as audio but also as writing on my blog, with photographs and the kind of soft, intimate storytelling that I believe is my true voice. Women Who Shape Rural Futures is meant to give rural women visibility, connect creative leaders across countries, challenge stereotypes about village life, and invite the world to look at rural places with new eyes. - Connecting Women Worldwide Conversations. The third pillar of my 2026 vision is the creation of an online network called Connecting Women Worldwide Conversations. Women from different fields, such as art, sustainability, communication, education, entrepreneurship, and spirituality, will come together in this community to share ideas, work together, and inspire each other across borders. Collaborations and sharing, based on my personal experience and story, don't have borders, so why limit ourselves to the city, village, or even country where we live? Why not go global? This online space will include live monthly conversations, cross-cultural collaborations, creative challenges and storytelling circles. I want to create a movement that honours women's voices, changes misconceptions about rural life and women living in villages, and connects Genalguacil, my mountain village, to international conversations. I want to create an online and offline international community where small villages inspire big futures, women lift each other, and beauty and courage become a form of change.
- Workshops and events for women on the coast. Alongside everything I am building in Genalguacil and online, 2026 will also mark the expansion of my women’s workshops and gatherings on the Costa del Sol. The coast has its own vibrant rhythm, international and dynamic, and full of women navigating creativity and entrepreneurship. I intend to create a bridge between the rural life and the multicultural energy of coastal towns like Estepona, San Pedro, and Marbella.
I want it, and I will! This is my promise for 2026.
