THE WOMEN INDEX | Oana Ivan

Entry 005 of The Women Index: a portrait of Oana Ivan through the people, places, objects, and cultural experiences she returns to.

THE WOMEN INDEX | Oana Ivan

THE WOMEN INDEX is an ongoing editorial archive exploring how women shape their worlds.

Through four lenses: WHOWHEREWHAT, and LEARN & CULTURE, each edition maps the people, places, rituals, objects, and cultural references that influence the way women live, create, work, and move through the world.

Part interview, part cultural index, the project aims to build a living global archive of female influence, one woman at a time.

Today, we step inside the world of Oana Ivan, founder of @piartvision.

Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. Oana is breathtakingly beautiful, the epitome of femininity and incredibly smart."One of the last true romantics in PR". I admire her deeply, so there was no way I could leave her out of the Women Index.

WHO

Elizabeth Bennet. For the courage to stay true to her values and beliefs, even when it would have been far easier to simply fit in.

WHERE

Obor Market. From spring to autumn, I seem to live by the rhythm of seasonal flowers and fruit.

@om.yoga.path For stillness and balance. I return whenever I need to turn inward, through meditation and presence.

The streets of Cotroceni and Zona Capitale. For a more melancholic, elegant Bucharest. Old houses, magnolia trees and roses spilling over garden walls in spring and summer.

Paris. For the beauty of everyday life: museums, cafés, bookshops, and the way culture is such a natural part of the city.

Florence. For its artistic sensibility. For the @santamarianovella1221 Pharmacy, Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus at the @uffizigalleries, and sunsets from Ponte Santa Trinita.

Venice. For its cinematic atmosphere and the constant feeling of being inside a film.

WHAT

White bed linen Rose-scented creams and soaps by Rose of Bulgaria

LEARN & CULTURE

@cinemaelvirepopesco My favourite place in Bucharest. For the way it makes cinema feel intimate and deeply cultural. And for that one-minute walk from the courtyard entrance to the cinema, when you know you are about to experience something that might stay with you for days. If it is raining or snowing, even better.

@carturesti_verona For the feeling of being a first-year university student again. I used to spend here Saturday afternoons reading books I couldn’t afford

@lesfilmsdecannesabucarest For arthouse cinema and the feeling of a genuinely meaningful cultural project unfolding in the heart of Bucharest.

@astrafilmfestival For Sibiu and documentary cinema.
