In the midst of change, some things remain timeless

Celebrating art and elegance through the magic of fire enamel, this article serves as an ode to myself and all the women in my community.

In the midst of change, some things remain timeless

When I was a little girl, I loved pink and lilac (of course). Then, I spent years wearing only black, white, and grey clothing.

I had years without any jewelry—not even earrings, and they were years of wearing too much, too big jewellery.

I spent years dressing in kitschy, low-quality clothes and then transitioned to a clean, high-quality style.

For the majority of my life, I never wore dresses or high heels. However, in the past three to four years, I have developed a deep love for dresses, particularly those from Romanian brands.

So yes, I’ve been changing a lot, trying to discover who I am, what I want from myself, from life, how I want to live my life, and what clothes and accessories I should enhance my everyday life with.

As I previously mentioned in other articles on my blog or on my Instagram account, I don't own many clothes or accessories of any type because owning too many things gives me anxiety. I only have what I truly wear and absolutely love.

That's why FREY WILLE is my preferred international brand for earrings, bracelets, and silk scarves. I own a few pieces, but I can use my creativity to mix these elegant, art-inspired beauties with different attires.

Jewelry

Nowadays, my style can be pretty eclectic, and it’s not because I don’t have one; it’s because now, at 37, I feel free to wear exactly what I was too shy or insecure to wear in my 20s.

At this age, I have courage like never before, so regardless of where my feet wander—whether it’s the art-filled corners of Genalguacil, my mountain home, the beautiful and touristic Marbella, the full of history Ronda, or the cosy San Pedro de Alcántara—certain elements remain constant. My jewellery and scarves have followed me through every transformation, fitting seamlessly into every version of me.

Indeed, my feminine-masculine duality creates multiple versions of me. There are days when I feel feminine and choose to wear a pink dress; there are days when a basic T-shirt, jeans, and flip-flops suit me better; there are days when I prefer all white; and there are days when I need colour to ease my anxiety.

So regardless of what I wear, my FREY WILLE jewellery and my scarves adapt, enhance, and complete—never overpowering, always belonging.

I don't seek to be loud; I used to be longing for that for so many years. Now, I prefer the quiet luxury of a bracelet or earrings that convey a story, reflecting my authentic, honest, and self-aware nature. So this is why these extraordinary pieces become an extension of my essence, a reflection of my love for beauty, detail, and meaning.

I do need to have meaning for everything I do, say, or wear. To me, clothing and accessories are not frivolous; they are unspoken allies of one person’s life, and they are also these great allies who help us feel better, more beautiful, and more balanced with who we are inside and out.

Scarves

A silk scarf is more than an accessory now more than ever. Since our arrival in Costa del Sol last year, silk scarves have become my go-to companion for shielding my hair and forehead from the intense sun.

So it’s basically mixing impeccable aesthetics with practicality. I own 2 FREY WILLE silk scarves, that I wear in so many different ways: tied loosely around my neck, draped over my shoulders, tied on my head, or even knotted onto my handbag.

You know, I have this trick in my mind: whenever I am afraid to do something—I do it anyway with all the fears and anxiety—I choose one item that has the power to encourage me. And suddenly, I am looking into the mirror and say to myself, Oh, I look pretty; I think I can do this workshop for women, for example.

I am sure that this is the essence of true style: finding the pieces that transcend trends, that become part of your identity, that feel like home regardless of where you are. I don’t chase trends; it is boring, and for me, it seems like you lack personality. I prefer to stick to the brands I adore—the ones that embody quiet luxury, the final touch, and the artistic expression of who I am.

I would rather not end this article without giving my community great news: FREYWILLE introduces Hommage à Alphonse Mucha—their latest fire enamel collection, celebrating art and elegance through the magic of fire enamel.

INSPIRATION

Lilies are elegant, timeless, and a symbol of beauty. The FREYWILLE artists were inspired by the most popular flowers of the Art Nouveau period, Alphonse Mucha’s works of art, “The Flowers—Lily” (1898), “Madonna of the Lilies” (1905), and his time in Paris. They created an elegant FREYWILLE jewellery creation using delicate pastel colours for the flowers on a deep midnight blue background in yellow gold mounting.

THE COLLECTION

There are numerous ways to combine the various pieces of jewellery. The ‘Mucha Paris’ collection consists of our classic shapes, such as Helena Pendant, Ballerina, or Miss Bangle, and it also features our latest shape family, ‘Eliza.’.

THE DESIGN

The works of art in fire enamel show delicate lily blossoms entwined with leaves in dusted white gold and framed by Art Nouveau ornaments in bright gold. The pink lilies and light-colored leaves stand out against the midnight blue background and harmonise perfectly with the gold setting. Each piece of jewellery in this collection carries the magic of Art Nouveau and impresses with the timeless elegance of lilies.
